Saving trees while protecting the security and privacy of your business & clients
Have you ever considered that throwing your documents in the recycling bin could be like throwing your business away?
Recycling has certain benefits, but protecting your business interests is not one of them — it simply does not afford you the same level of protection that on site document destruction does. However, by choosing a secure on-site document destruction company, you not only protect the environment - you also protect the security and privacy of your business and clients.
Over the years, PRISM has engaged the on site document destruction company – Shred It – to recycle our documents. Every time two Shred-it consoles are filled, we save a tree. We are part of a network that saves over 9 million trees a year worldwide. At the end of each year, we receive an Environmental Certificate detailing the number of trees we have helped saved. Over the past 6 years, PRISM has saved over 80 trees.
In addition to recycling, governments and regulators around the world are demanding that companies take responsibility for ensuring the security of their confidential records. This is not only good business practice; it’s the law. This strict new corporate environment means that aggressive sanctions will be imposed on organizations that are less than rigorous about the absolute security of all their confidential documents. The only acceptable standard for PRISM is total privacy and security using a firm whose document control is ISO 9002 compliant.
Our office building and city does not have a business recycling program so in good conscious, we decided that we could not throw away our renewable resources. Several years ago PRISM instituted recycling aluminum, plastics and glass. Our employees created a central depository for renewable materials which is emptied twice a week at a local recycling center. In the last 10 years, we’ve estimated that PRISM has recycled over 32,000 aluminum cans. We also donate old cell phones, empty toner cartridges, retired office equipment (not hard drives – they are destroyed) and outdated office supplies to local charities and schools.
PRISM is proud to be a responsible local, corporate and world citizen that recycles precious resources while protecting the privacy and security of its business and clients.
