This is a tailored session that addresses the specific needs, issues and concerns that employees and their families have as they prepare to relocate to work assignments outside the United States.
The goal of this session is to provide information and skills to assist them in making a less stressful adjustment to their new assignment. More specifically, participants will have he opportunity to:
- Identify their own expectations about their assignment
- Examine culture and its effect on behavior
- Understand the "Adjustment Curve" and learn specific strategies to reduce "culture shock"
- Learn social behavior and protocol
- Overcome language barriers
- Understand the roots of that culture's values
- Overview the history of the culture/county of employee's assignment
- Gain practical knowledge of daily living in the culture/country of employee's assignment
