Creating a Supplier Diversity ProcessPRISM's Supplier Diversity Process addresses the business motive and the responsibilities of establishing a Woman and Minority Supplier Program. Activities included in this process are as follows:

  • Review the present procurement system of the Company
    • Performance objectives
    • Annual purchase dollars
    • Percent increase over previous year (total spend)
    • Company-wide contracting and purchasing opportunities
    • Present supplier form and compare with other organizations
  • Discuss NMSDC (National Minority Supplier Development Council) activities that the Company has participated
  • Discuss frustrations and obstacles
  • Discuss barriers and impediments that inhibit small business participation (in general)
  • Provide suggestions for enhancing small business participation; e.g., mentoring, financial assistance, networking, etc.
  • Discuss communication's strategy for the Company's commitment to the supplier program
  • Identifying Key Result Indicators and Reporting progress to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Identify best practices (Internal/External)
