PRISM's Supplier Diversity Process addresses the business motive and the responsibilities of establishing a Woman and Minority Supplier Program. Activities included in this process are as follows:
- Review the present procurement system of the Company
- Performance objectives
- Annual purchase dollars
- Percent increase over previous year (total spend)
- Company-wide contracting and purchasing opportunities
- Present supplier form and compare with other organizations
- Discuss NMSDC (National Minority Supplier Development Council) activities that the Company has participated
- Discuss frustrations and obstacles
- Discuss barriers and impediments that inhibit small business participation (in general)
- Provide suggestions for enhancing small business participation; e.g., mentoring, financial assistance, networking, etc.
- Discuss communication's strategy for the Company's commitment to the supplier program
- Identifying Key Result Indicators and Reporting progress to the Executive Leadership Team
- Identify best practices (Internal/External)
