Post Conference Report: More than 300 Attendees from ERGs and Diversity Councils Across the U.S. Gathered to Network, Learn and Share Best Practices at the 2013 Diversity Council Conference in Washington D.C.PRISM Press Release, October 18, 2013 For Additional Information Contact: Ty Fitzgerald, ty@PrismInternational.com Sanford, FL (October 18, 2013) -- The 2013 Diversity Council Conference: Increasing Effectiveness - Driving Results! concluded on October 3rd with record-breaking attendance of over 300 diversity and inclusion professionals from more than 90 U.S. organizations. This year's conference was expanded to a full two days and featured a pre-conference workshop, three keynote speakers, nine concurrent sessions, innovation round tables, a Practitioner's Town Hall forum and the 5th annual Diversity Council Honors Award™ Dinner and Ceremony concluded in Alexandria Virginia.In its second year, this is the only conference designed specifically to provide ERGs and Diversity Councils with opportunities to learn and share best practices. The conference featured three keynote speakers and offered a pre-conference workshop "Reframing Diversity and Inclusion to Meet 21st Century Organizational Needs" led by Dr. Steve Robbins. Facilitators for the concurrent sessions featured national Diversity and Inclusion leaders that included: Ken Barrett, Chief Diversity Officer at General Motors; David Casey, Chief Diversity Officer at CVS Caremark; Andres Gonzalez, Chief Diversity Officer at Baystate Health; Dr. Danielle Robinson, Director Alcohol Policy and Reputation Management at Diageo North America; Fernando Serpa, Director Global Diversity & Inclusion at Johnson Controls; and, Deborah Thomas, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Cox Media Group. During the Innovation Roundtable Discussion Topics session and the Practitioner's Town Hall Forum, participants had opportunities to network and address issues with each other and with leaders on topics of Global Councils, ERGs, LGBT, Disabilities, Innovation, Gender, Measurement, Senior Management Engagement, Healthcare, Council Fatigue and more. Also featured was the 5th Annual Diversity Council Award™ Dinner and Ceremony where the Nation's Top 25 ERGs and Diversity Councils were recognized, honored and awarded.
